Our minds are the greatest asset that God has put in our possession. This is because they have the ability to build on things that are not there. A while ago I shared a message on submitting to the maker where God makes us co-workers after submitting to His Kingship. I would want us to relate it to this. In Genesis 11:1-9, this were a people who imagined building a tower whose top reached the sky. God came down to see the city and the tower which the children of men had built. In verse 6, Yahweh said, “Behold they are one people, and they have one language, and this is what they begin to do. Now nothing will be withheld from them, which they intend to do” May God help us understand this power of imagination.
Before we input our effort in anything, the very first thing will always be the imagination. You will first imagine owning a car before you can actually buy one. Imagination will always come first. This is a great secret in our Lord that we should thrive in. God Himself said that nothing would be withheld from the people of Babylon in building the tower they wanted to build. If only this people had a good intention, God would fund and sponsor them in attaining that which they intended. God acknowledges the power of the mind that He has put in our possession as co-workers in His Kingdom, but so does satan. The devil knows very well of what we can achieve and will always try to limit our thinking. The greatest intimidation the devil uses is fear and doubts.2nd Timothy 1:7 (“For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind ”)It’s so well put here, we have been given the spirit of power, love and of a sound mind. This is something that the devil can never be at peace with and will always fight to suppress it.
I believe that if the devil was to choose the part of us to cripple, he would go to our minds first before getting to the leg or hand. Fear and doubts are some of the limitations and yokes that the devil has laid on us. God will always bring ideas revelations and even certain knowledge on the line that we are to follow in life but the devil will always come to walk us out of it. Genesis 3:1 (“Now the serpent was more subtle than any animal of the field which Yahweh God had made. He said to the woman, “ Has God really said, ‘You shall not eat of any fruit from the trees of the garden’?”)If you would continue reading ,you will realise that Eve was very well informed of what God want for them and what He did not want. They were in sound mind and held on to God’s instructions. This was before the devil came to bring confusion into what God had commanded them and cunningly got to capture their minds, walking them away from the soundness they initially had. May God protect our minds from the captivity of the devil.
Imagination brings spiritual building. Creating things which are not there and seeing them as though they are there. Hebrews 11:1 (“Now faith is the reality of what is hoped for, the proof of what is not seen.”) We raise our faith to that which we have conceived in the heart and in the mind. You cannot raise your faith to something that you have not created mentally. I will use then example I had used earlier on of buying a car. You cannot believe God to give you a car if you have not thought of it, so the idea will always be conceived in your imagination before you can even raise the faith to receiving it. We can conceive of ideas and revelation from God but between the period of conceiving and delivery of that which God holds for us, some people miscarriage the promise, something that you were once so sure that it will come to pass. Others will hold on so well but just when you want to do what God told you, at your delivering, the devil imputes a yoke of fear and doubts on you.
May God help us realise the power in the imaginations of our minds and unleash our full potential. Philippians 4:13(“I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.”) Shalom.
