Oppressing means burdening with cruel and unjust restrains. An authority that uses its power to keep people under its control. On the other hand, suppressing means to put an end to the activities of a person. I welcome you all as we share the Word of God. I want us to base our arguments from a Christian point of view. Our oppressor is the devil and suppressing him under our feet should be our day in day out responsibilities. One thing with the devil is that he will always be trying to break in your territory. In Job 1:10(haven’t you made a hedge around him and around all that he has, on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land). God has a put a hedge protecting all that God has put in our possession but the devil will always fight to remove that hedge.
“There is power in prayers”, this are words that I have lived hearing from time to time having been raised in a Christian based family. However, for quite some time, they dint have such an impact on my life until not a long while ago. Prayers help us in claiming or rather reaching to the desires of God upon our lives. Philippians 3:14(I press on toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus) There are things that we must always press on to in the kingdom of God. Prayers enable God release the Grace of pressing on in Christianity and there is nothing the devil fears more than a prayerful Christian. This is because he knows God Himself resumes the responsibility of a Father to His children and begins to fight the battle on their behalf. God begins to put restrictions on the devil on where not to touch. Job 2:6(Yahweh said to satan,” Behold, he is in your hand. Only spare his life”). The intentions of the devil are so clear and he knows his mission very well. John 10:10 puts it very well that the devil comes to steal, kill and destroy. The question is, do you know the power that you posses as a prayerful Christian?
Ephesians 6:12 “For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. “I pray that it will be clear to every Christian that what we deal with is more spiritual than physical and there may be no physical way to tackle the problems other that spirituality which is through prayers. Prayers engage God in battle.2nd Chronicles 20:15 “For the battle is not yours but the Lord’s”. We give Him a position to put a hedge around us as He did around Job. God’s hedge is unlimited, it could be in health, wealth and even on your family at large. Prayers enable God’s plans be done in our lives because it creates a level of intimacy between the Father and the son or a daughter.
I believe we all want God’s plans be done upon our lives but we must pay the price of laboring in prayers. May God help us to pray without ceasing that He may take over our battles. God bless you all as you take the battle to whom it belongs in prayers. Shalom.
